Starting 27 January 2025, the New Zealand Government will remove the requirement for all current and future accredited employers and Recognised Seasonal Employers (RSEs) to complete the Employment New Zealand online modules.

What’s Changing?

  • No More Online Module Requirement: Employers will no longer need to complete the mandatory online training modules.
  • Alternative Resources: Instead, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) will provide employers and workers with direct links to freely available Employment New Zealand or INZ webpages that outline key employment rights and obligations. These resources will be shared at the most relevant stages of the immigration process, ensuring that both employers and workers are fully informed.

Why the Change?

This update simplifies the process for employers while still ensuring that both employers and workers are aware of their rights and obligations. The new system provides more accessible and targeted information, making it easier for employers to comply with employment law.

How This Affects Employers:

  • Simplified Process: The removal of the online module requirement reduces administrative tasks.
  • Easier Access to Information: Employers and workers will have access to relevant resources at the right time, promoting better understanding of employment laws.
