New Changes to Recognized Seasonal Employer (RSE) Immigration Policies

We’re excited to announce recent updates to the Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) immigration instructions, reflecting new policy changes that will positively impact both employers and workers for the 2024/25 season.

Key Updates:

1. Increased Cap on RSE Workers:

  • The annual cap has been raised by 1,250, bringing the total number of RSE workers to 20,750 for the 2024/25 season.

2. Minimum Remuneration:

  • Workers returning for their third or subsequent seasons must be paid at least 10% above the minimum wage.
  • For the first two seasons, workers must be paid at least the minimum wage.

3. Guaranteed Hours:

  • RSE workers are now required to be paid for a minimum of 30 hours per week, averaged over a four-week period.

4. Accommodation Costs:

  • Employers may increase accommodation costs by up to 15% or $15 per week per person (whichever is lesser) for the next 12 months.

5. Multiple Entry Travel Conditions:

  • RSE Limited Visas now come with multiple entry travel conditions, providing greater flexibility for workers.

6. HIV Screening Requirement Removed:

  • The previous requirement for HIV screening for RSE workers has been removed.

Additionally, COVID-19 provisions that are no longer applicable have been removed, and other minor clarifications have been made to the RSE instructions.
