Update on Immigration Instructions – Extended Caps for Processing Sectors

We are pleased to inform you that recent changes have been made to immigration instructions, providing an extension to the annual caps for certain processing sectors. These changes will ensure continued support for industries vital to New Zealand’s economy, particularly within the meat processing and seafood processing sectors.

Key Updates:

  1. Meat Processing Sector:
    • The annual cap of 320 jobs has been extended for another 12 months.
    • The new period will cover from 31 August 2024 to 31 August 2025.
  2. Seafood (Onshore Processing) Sector:
    • The annual cap of 600 jobs remains in place, with an additional 12-month extension.
    • This cap is applicable for the 36-month period from 31 October 2022 to 31 October 2025.
